I established the practice in 2000, and from the start, our ethos has focused on innovation, quality and collaboration with communities, clients, design teams, artists and constructors.
Our practice has gained a wide range of experience, as can be seen from the variety of projects undertaken. We have received awards for several of our built projects and also enjoy playing with design ideas through landscape and architectural competitions.
We strive on every project to:
We work closely with our clients, enjoying the lively exchange of ideas that leads to the delivery of successful projects. Our clients include Councils and Housing Associations, Community Groups, Care Organisations, the NHS, the Forestry Commission, SNH, Schools, Hydro Companies and private individuals.
“MHLA is serious about the sustainability of our projects in terms of their durability, carbon footprint and ease of maintenance, but also how we conduct our business. We have supported recycling charities, use bikes for local meeting and reduce waste where ever possible. We also design specifically to support local craft and manufacturing companies using locally produced materials specifically stone and timber. Our public realm projects use Scottish and British stone and our bespoke seating uses Scottish native hard woods.“
