PUBLIC REALM
KIRKINTILLOCH TOWNSCAPE
East Dunbartonshire
A series of public realm works providing 21st Century spaces for a town famous for its Roman history and status as a major inland port on the canal system. Modern spaces were designed by MHLA to enhance the setting for important historic buildings and improve access links within the town. At Regents Gardens we created a focal space, linked to the High Street, for community use, such as farmers’ markets and Christmas fairs, as well as more informal activities.
RAPLOCH COMMUNITY CAMPUS
Raploch, Stirling
This is a multi-million pound urban space, which we designed to reconnect communities on either side of Drip Road, focused around the square and Community Campus. Stone features were incorporated, representing local geology, and bespoke street furniture was used to give the space a unique character.
